"Abuse loses some of its power when you have names for its weapons."

Ive been reading a very insightful book recently called "Why Does He Do That?" by Lundy Bancroft. It has shocked me how much my experience relates to what is in this book and I'd like to share some excerpts.

There were things in this book that absolutely shook me, took me by surprise and made me realize ive been in an abusive relationship. Some other things in this book seemed VERY firmiliar, making me say "yes, i knew this was not on" and i feel vindicated in my thinking after being gaslit for so long.

It took me a while to finish this book because i kept getting angry or anxious reliving my own experiences through its pages. But i do really recommend it to anyone who think they might have an abusive man (in any respect) in their life.

This book covers the different archetypes of abusive men and it covers abuse in regards to physical, emotional, financial, psychological, sexual....It goes through the way abusive men think, how they work in relationships, how they are as parents, how they are with people in the world...
Bancroft relays years of knowledge of working with abusive and controlling men, which he refers to as his clients, councilling and evaluating them.

Throughout reading this book I've taken pictures of passgages that really resonated with me. I've highlighted the parts that have been most relevant to my life and circumstances and im hoping just these snapshots will open peoples eyes as much as they opened mine.
